In fact scientists estimate that we have approximately 100 TRILLION bacteria and viruses living inside us. This means you have more foreign cells in your body, compared to human cells.
Why should you care?
Well, it turns out that we hugely depend on these tiny organisms to stay alive: our micro-biome protects us against germs, it breaks down food to release energy, and produces vitamins. BUT ONLY WHEN FUNCTIONING WELL.
